WhatYou Can Expect
Full time clinical laboratory technologist responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a high complexity testing laboratory including pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of testing. When not on site, the General Supervisor must be available by telephone or electronic consultation to provide guidance to the staff as needed whenever testing is being performed. Continually looks for ways to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Responsible for day-to-day supervision of staff. Maintains time and attendance according to laboratory policies. Provides continuous feedback on performance, performs yearly reviews and takes disciplinary action when needed.
Provides instruction and supervision to technologists and lab assistants. Assures that all personnel can independently perform routine procedures and operate all instruments in assigned departments. Assists with personnel training and maintenance of all training documents for assigned technical departments.
Schedules the daily laboratory operations to ensure testing, procedures (SOPM), quality activities and documentation are in compliance with CLIA regulations and established laboratory standards.
Ensures laboratory equipment, calibrations, procedures and training are properly maintained and compliant.
Assess, implement and validate new technologies or equipment.
Reviews quality control results, ensuring quality control trending is performed and monitored. Is able to identify trends and anomalies and take appropriate corrective actions.
Ensures test system performance by initiating preventative and/or remedial actions when test procedures deviate from the laboratory’s established specifications. In the event of a nonconformance, ensures that the test results are not reported until corrective action has been taken, and the test is performing according to laboratory established performance specifications.
Performs all testing according to SOPM, ensures SOPMs are accurate, and update as needed.
Provide technical information about test results to physicians.
Perform annual employee competency assessments, ensuring action is taken when personnel do not perform as expected on competency assessments.
Participate in individual or group projects or on designated committees when requested to do so by the Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Director.

Experience in clinical microbiology laboratory setting
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a chemical, physical or a biological science (ASCP/ASM preferred) with a minimum of four (4) years of CLIA certified laboratory experience since date of Medical Technologist qualification in a clinical microbiology laboratory setting.
Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience (lead, supervisor, manager, may include military leadership).

Expected Compensation Range$70,000-$88,000 annually.
