As a Clinic-Based Pediatric Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating children with a variety of motor impairments, developmental delays, and physical disabilities. You will work closely with pediatric patients and their families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and overall functional independence.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patients' motor skills, range of motion, strength, posture, and overall functional abilities. - Treatment Planning and Implementation:
Develop comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and educators, to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
- Family Education and Support:
Educate patients and their families about the nature of their condition, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms at home, and provide ongoing support to facilitate progress outside clinic sessions. - Progress Monitoring and Documentation:
Regularly reassess patients' progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies. - Professional Development:
Stay current with advancements in pediatric physical therapy through continuing education, professional conferences, and self-directed learning, and engage in reflective practice and peer collaboration to enhance clinical skills.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- State licensure as a Physical Therapist, with additional certification or specialization in Pediatric Physical Therapy preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Proficiency in conducting pediatric assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, family-centered care and advocating for the unique needs of pediatric patients.
