We are excited that you are interested in applying for the Johns Hopkins Speech Language Pathology Acute Care Clinical Fellowship Program, a full-time paid clinical fellowship. The program provides a supportive and challenging learning environment that fosters the growth of clinical fellows in becoming experts in the field of medical speech pathology.
It is designed to be an intensive 12 month program where clinical education is viewed as a dynamic process. Clinical Fellows participate actively in learning to apply didactic information to clinical practice with adult patients with various medical and surgical conditions in the acute care hospital setting.

Prerequisites
: applicant must be eligible for a limited license in Maryland and to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by the PMR department.
The goal is to prepare clinicians who demonstrate strengths in the following:
- The ability to analyze and synthesize information from a broad-based fund of knowledge inmedical communication and swallowing science and disorders
- A problem-solving attitude of inquiry and decision making based on evidence-based practice
- Motivation to achieve an advanced level of clinical competency in prevention, screening,evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with medical communication and swallowing disorders
- The ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a multidisciplinary health setting
- Self-evaluation resulting in active steps to develop new skills & acquire knowledge
- Ethical, responsible, and professional conduct

The Johns Hopkins Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has been helping patients recover function since 1992. Our twenty convenient locations form the Johns Hopkins Rehabilitation Network, which provides comprehensive rehabilitation services and continuum of care to patients throughout Maryland.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
