About the Role

The Transportation Aide supports healthcare and social assistance operations by ensuring the safe and timely transport of patients, staff, and essential materials.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written directions accurately
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment within established guidelines
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient privacy
  • Minimum of five (5) years driving experience with a good driving record
  • Valid Maryland State Driver’s License and current CPR & First Aid Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or social assistance transportation role
  • Training or certification in patient handling and mobility assistance
  • Familiarity with healthcare facility layouts and protocols
  • Basic first aid or CPR certification
  • Experience using electronic scheduling or transport management systems
Responsibilities
  • Transport patients safely between various locations
  • Assist patients with mobility challenges during transport
  • Follow oral and written instructions accurately to adhere to schedules and protocols
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with healthcare staff
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and respect privacy
  • Perform basic vehicle checks and report maintenance concerns
  • Document transport activities and complete required records
Skills

Basic computer literacy for logging transport details, following directions, regular attendance, English language proficiency, and genuine caring, respecting confidentiality.
