Core Lab at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD. Night shift: 11 pm–7:30 am. Weekend rotations required.

• Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory tests following SOPs, policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Support pre‑analytical and analytical areas as assigned.
• Train new hires, colleagues, students, residents/fellows and others assigned in the laboratory.
• Set up and maintain equipment; monitor quality control standards.
• Assist in bringing new testing and programs online, including validation, QA and research support.
• Resolve problems and provide expertise in operating equipment or testing protocols.
• Review lab requisitions and collect pertinent clinical and medical chart data.
• Perform data entry, pre‑analytical setup, routine clerical and service duties as required.
• Support laboratory inventory/ordering and backup to other tasks as assigned.
• Serve as “charge” in the absence of Lead, Supervisor or Manager and participate in committees and project teams as needed.
• Perform competency testing of others.

• BS degree in Medical Lab Sciences, Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or a related field.
• BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field with clinical laboratory internship/rotations and approved Med Tech certification is considered.
• Formal education/coursework in biology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, cytogenetics and/or microbiology meeting regulatory requirements for testing.

Minimum 2 years of direct clinical laboratory experience.

Verified certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLS) from ASCP or other department‑approved agency, maintained at all times.

Minimum $24.54 per hour – Maximum $52.69 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
