Within the highly collaborative environment of the Johns Hopkins University, PBS represents a vibrant community of researchers investigating the mind and the brain. We enjoy rich interactions with cognitive scientists and neuroscientists in the Departments of Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, the Mind/Brain Institute, Neuroscience, Neurology and Otolaryngology, Philosophy, and the SNF Agora Institute.

The expected academic base salary range for these positions is $110,000- $144,500 (Assistant Professor level), $131,500 - $201,000 (Associate Professor level), and $156,00 - $316,000 (Full Professor level). The offered compensation will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience and qualifications, discipline, other work experience, and other factors as reasonably determined by Johns Hopkins University.

For the position in Behavioral Neuroscience, we welcome researchers who employ innovative approaches to understanding the neural underpinnings of non-human animal behavior. Preference will be given to applicants with research programs using in vivo systems and behavioral neuroscience, coupled with computational approaches.

For the position in Cognitive Neuroscience, the successful candidate will have a cutting-edge research program in any area of cognitive neuroscience, broadly construed. Cognitive neuroscience research includes research with human participants using methods such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), magnetoencephalography (MEG) or EEG (Electroencephalography). Areas of research could include (but are not limited to) perception, concepts, memory, learning, language, action, reasoning, metacognition, social cognition, moral cognition, cognitive development, comparative/animal cognition, and decision-making.

Candidates conducting research with animal models should apply to the Behavioral Neuroscience position in PBS, and candidates using primarily behavioral and/or computational measures should apply to the Cognitive Psychology position in PBS.

For the position in Cognitive Psychology, the successful candidate will have a cutting-edge research program in any area of cognitive psychology, broadly construed, with a focus on behavioral and/or computational measures. Areas of research could include (but are not limited to) perception, concepts, memory, learning, language, action, reasoning, metacognition, social cognition, moral cognition, cognitive development, comparative/animal cognition, and decision-making.
