Overview
Substance Use Counselor role at Med Mark Treatment Centers. The counselor assists patients through medically assisted programs and provides techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies, and evaluates patients’ progress during therapy. Collaboration with doctors, nurses, and therapists is required for coordinated treatment.
Responsibilities- Conducts initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
- Involve families and significant others in the patient’s recovery process when possible
- Facilitates, establishes and reviews the initial treatment plan with each patient
- Respond to patient grievances and complaints
- Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
- Other related duties as determined by supervisor
- Certification or license is required (ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LCPC, LCSW, LGADC or LCADC) from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
Salary ranges from $44,000 – $80,000 annualized. This position is non-exempt and overtime eligible with prior approval. The salary is based on experience, education, licensure, and training.
