Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is a 420‑bed teaching hospital, trauma center, neonatal intensive care unit, geriatric center, and home to the Johns Hopkins Burn Center, the only adult burn trauma center in Maryland.
The Registered Nurse (RN) in our Psychiatric Evaluation Services (PES) provides specialized care to acutely psychiatric patients, including those with substance use disorders, bipolar disorder, major depression, schizophrenia, and those presenting with acute suicidal ideation. The RN is responsible for crisis intervention, patient stabilization, and comprehensive assessments in a 10‑bay facility. Patients may be voluntary or involuntary, and the RN facilitates admissions, transfers, and ongoing treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
The RN ensures patient safety, administers medications, and supports therapeutic interventions in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity setting.

- Associate degree in Nursing required
- Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
- BLS CPR certification required
- RN work experience required
Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program may be considered; provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.

Salary RangeMinimum $38.49/hour – Maximum $59.66/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
