The Government Renewal Project is an initiative focused on building the government Americans want, deserve, and need. The Senior Analyst, Programs and Research plays a crucial programmatic management role within the Government Renewal Project’s Programs and Research function. Working closely with the Director of Programs and Research and the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Senior Analyst will analyze and synthesize ideas, evidence, and inputs that will shape the Project’s public and stakeholder‑facing deliverables. This role is ideal for someone who is a creative thinker and strategic problem‑solver, highly organized, and collaborative — someone who enjoys crafting research frameworks, identifying non‑obvious policy levers, and driving strategy across the project ecosystem.

The Senior Analyst will drive program implementation and lead research by designing original research agendas, identifying critical reform options, conducting deep‑dive landscape evaluations, and steering the direction of collaborative work streams. This role requires sophisticated conceptual thinking, high‑level communication, and comfort navigating ambiguity to identify and deliver insights on options across the government reform landscape.

• 5-10 years of experience leading complex strategic initiatives, managing high‑level research programs, or overseeing policy analysis within sophisticated organizational environments
• Strong research and analysis skills, including the ability to gather and summarize information from diverse sources
• Familiarity with federal operations, public administration, or issues related to government capacity and operational and institutional reforms
• Experience in federal government, think tanks, research organizations, or policy‑focused environments
• Experience preparing memos, briefs, or synthesis documents for senior audiences
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and project‑tracking capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration among working teams and to lead multiple work streams and/or working groups concurrently
• Ability to work independently and proactively while maintaining alignment with team goals

• Experience supporting cross‑sector partnerships, stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, or
• Experience in management consulting

This position is fully remote, but will require in‑person attendance to support meetings and convenings in DC and other U.S. locations on an as‑needed basis.

• With leadership from the Director of Programs and Research, oversee the strategic trajectory of research work streams, ensuring timelines and milestones align with project goals
• Design and implement plans and project timelines to produce and integrate internal and external deliverables
