A Commitment Records Specialist Lead is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and adjusting inmate records specialized commitment procedures. In addition, processes other inmate information into Statewide Computer System maintaining necessary backup information.
- Review, audit, and adjust inmate commitment information upon intake.
- Adjust inmate records as necessary in instances of escape, release or parole violations.
- Review and adjust all inmate records prior to release, court appearances or transfers.
- Process 50 to 60 new commitment packets for verification and file in active files.
- Process 50 to 60 inmate commitment papers and prepare for release daily.
- Process the preparation of approximately 250 inmate commitment papers for court appearance in District and Circuit Court.
- Process 30 or more sentenced inmates for transfer to Division of Corrections.
- Placing and lifting detainer information.
- Posting inmate good conduct credits or revocation of credits.
- Posting court dates, dispositions or other pertinent information.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Two years of experience in reviewing, verifying, and interpreting information in order to make determinations and resolve problems involving the calculation of prison sentences in accordance with applicable laws, and the regulations and policies of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.
- Experience performing audits.
- Experience working with Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) and comparable Offender Case Management systems (OCMS).
Employees in this classification are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached.

- Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).
