** Job Summary*
* Patrol designated areas by vehicle and foot to identify and report safety hazards; detect violations of laws and ordinances; maintain a visible presence to deter crime; respond to emergency calls and determine appropriate action; conduct preliminary and follow‑up investigations; collect, preserve, and process evidence; serve warrants and summons; arrest, search, restrain, transport, guard, and process offenders; interact with campus community and establish rapport with the public;

mediate disputes and provide advice on legal rights and processes; perform crisis mediation with persons involved in domestic, civil disputes, suicide, or hostage situations; prepare and complete a variety of detailed reports and forms to support investigations; appear and testify in court; assist in training and direct activities of law enforcement and other support personnel; participate in specialized unit activities such as crime prevention, recertification instruction, criminal investigations, or special events.

Minimum Qualifications *
* High School Diploma or GED; satisfactory completion of a Maryland Police Training Commission‑recognized or approved Police Academy Training Program and successful completion of a Police Field Training program.

** Requirements*
* Certification as a sworn Police Officer recognized by the Maryland Police Training Commission and a valid Maryland Non‑commercial Class C or equivalent driver’s license.
