Position OverviewThe CFO will serve as a key strategic partner to firm leadership. This is a hands‑on role for a finance leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building systems, improving performance, and bringing clarity to complex organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Assumed full ownership and control of all financial systems, ensuring timely financial reporting, performance measurement and analysis.
- Implemented disciplined billing, collections, and time‑entry processes that improve cash flow and reduce write‑offs.
- Developed planning and budgeting processes that roll up from practice group and attorney.
- Strengthened trust account oversight and reconciliation processes, minimizing risk and ensuring compliance.
- Optimized use of the firm’s integrated case management and accounting system.
- Assumed leadership for outside vendors, financial institutions and insurance.
- Evaluated and aligned finance personnel and resources to support current operations and future growth.
- Provided actionable insights to guide compensation decisions, marketing investments, and operational priorities.
- Become a trusted strategic partner to firm leadership, contributing to long‑term planning and firm governance.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Professional services experience strongly preferred (law firm experience a plus, but not required).
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
- Proven strategic thinking and team leadership.
- Clear communicator.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and discretion.
