About the Role

We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Analyst in the Syndicate Operations FID Trades team, providing support to Global Capital Markets (GCM) group and specifically to the Debt Capital Markets (DCM) desk on Corporate and Certificate of deposit new issue. This is a high-profile role, ensuring seamless execution of syndicate transactions front to back. The Analyst will work closely with the Business Units and Infrastructure partners in realizing the Firm's objectives.

Syndicate Operations works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to communicate deal requirements from an Operations perspective and coordinate the settlement of syndicated offerings. Daily responsibilities include interaction with Global Capital Markets (GCM), key stakeholder groups across Operations and Finance, counsel, depositories and exchanges, transfer agents/trustees, and Syndicate counterparts at other banks. The team has close working relationships with the global Syndicate Operations teams, coordinating cross-border transactions and delivery of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Deal Management: The candidate will be expected to run point on sizable and complex transactions for the team and manage multiple aspects of the new issuance process from deal structuring through settlement. This role requires Analyst to ensure that the trade bookings are correctly reflected in the trading risk systems and tie out with the Counter party.
  • Risk Management: The role involves exposure and interaction with the firm’s largest clients and transactions. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of risks associated with a transaction and the ability to have strong judgement around timely escalation. This role requires direct coordination with senior stakeholders in GCM BCU and the Syndicate Desk as the point of escalation for the team to ensure appropriate awareness and resolution.

    Ensure all functions and procedures are performed in a timely and correct manner, i.e. trade checkout, position reconciliation, wash account reconciliation.
  • Regulatory Reporting: The role involves time-sensitive regulatory reporting deliverables to regulatory bodies such as FINRA. There is coordination needed to ensure Firm submit regulatory reports on time.
  • Client Focus: The team works closely with GCM and Fixed Income Sales, and developing a strong partnership with our business partners is essential to the role. There is direct interaction and coordination, often at senior levels, with the Syndicate Desk, GCM BCU, and Coverage teams. The role also requires coordination with external vendors, including Client, Euroclear and CUSIP. The team also collaborates internally across multiple groups including Settlements, Technology, Legal and Compliance and Finance Teams.
  • Strategic Initiatives: The candidate needs to demonstrate teamwork skills and partnership to help drive process improvements and technology initiatives. This is a very important aspect of the role to support the business growth more effectively.

Skills Required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Syndicate Operations and/or Trade Support role.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Strong risk management and control mindset.
  • Performance-driven, proactive, with proven ability to take on challenges, set and execute agenda. Candidate should be a dynamic self-starter with the ability to work either on their own initiative as well as be a solid team player with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical understanding of the Debt and Fixed Income products, business, and operational support functions.
  • Ability to manage risk on Global Capital Markets transactions in an environment of elevated deal volumes and increased deal complexity.
  • Good interpersonal skills to build cross-divisional relationships; gain support and respect from key stakeholders.
  • Establish strong working relationships with the BU and Operations’ counterparts.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products, including Excel and Power Point.
