POSITION OVERVIEWThe Vice President of Finance & Administration is responsible for leading Gable’s financial and administrative functions during a critical phase of organizational evolution, including ESOP transition, margin improvement, and structured growth initiatives.
This is a hands‑on executive leadership role within a project‑based manufacturing and services organization entering its next phase of disciplined growth. The VP will oversee accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), pricing discipline, job cost profitability review, budgeting, banking relationships, audit management, insurance and risk management, and administrative functions including HR and IT.
This role is structured as a CFO‑track leadership position. The successful candidate will operate as both strategic advisor and working leader, building modern forecasting, margin visibility, and financial discipline, while remaining directly engaged in accounting oversight and financial execution. As the company grows in scale and complexity, this role is expected to evolve into the Chief Financial Officer position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Leadership, Accounting, Audit, and Controls- Oversee all accounting operations, including month‑end close, financial statement preparation, and internal controls.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
- Lead the annual budget preparation process across all departments.
- Oversee monthly budget versus actual reviews with department leaders and the executive team.
- Implement disciplined variance analysis and corrective action processes.
- Manage lending relationships, credit facilities, and covenant compliance.
- Oversee financial reporting and compliance requirements related to the ESOP structure.
- Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.
- Ensure audit readiness, documentation integrity, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Oversee insurance programs, bonding, and enterprise risk management.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial process discipline.
- Implement and utilize AI‑driven tools and automation to improve close processes, audit preparation, reporting, and financial documentation.
- Build and lead modern FP&A capability, including rolling 12 to 18 month forecasts aligned with EOS goals.
- Develop robust job costing systems to ensure accurate project‑level margin visibility.
- Conduct regular profitability reviews by project, client, and business line.
- Establish pricing discipline frameworks tied to labor rates, overhead recovery, and margin targets.
- Design and implement operational KPIs directly linked to gross margin performance.
- Partner with Operations, Planning & Cost Engineering, and Sales to improve estimating accuracy and cost control.
- Lead cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.
- Leverage AI tools for modeling, scenario planning, forecasting, and performance analytics.
- Develop financial models supporting organic growth initiatives and capital investments.
- Support evaluation, modeling, and financial due diligence for potential acquisition opportunities.
- Prepare executive‑ready financial reporting and strategic analysis for leadership review.
- Partner with the CEO and COO on capital allocation and growth financing strategies.
- Strengthen and maintain banking relationships to support expansion initiatives.
