Program OverviewInterns work with experienced Merrill employees to learn key aspects of wealth management—investment and banking products, relationship building, digital capabilities and client interaction. The campus internship program is an entry role into the Advisor Development Program, with the destination role being a full‑scale Financial Advisor.
This role provides client service support to multiple FAs, supporting enterprise strategic objectives, operational excellence goals, and client advocacy. Interns are the most frequent point of contact for client service needs and a resource for FAs.
Responsibilities & Expectations- Support multiple Financial Advisors with client service, onboarding, account servicing and digital engagement.
- Assist with client engagement, acquisition efforts and relationship management.
- Contribute to strategic projects focused on the client experience, including Relationship Management, Operations and enterprise delivery.
- Apply a defined consultative approach to systematically identify client needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Build a network through collaboration with core banking and investment partners, preparing for a future career as a Merrill Financial Advisor.
- Provide end‑to‑end comprehensive advice, deliver client reviews and presentations with confidence, and recommend strategies to achieve client financial goals.
- Collaborate with core banking and investment partners to connect all solutions available through Bank of America and Merrill.
Our training and development are our top priority. Interns receive dedicated programs, including formal web‑based and in‑person training, on‑the‑job support, educational speaker events, professional development opportunities and mentorship throughout the summer internship program.
Required Qualifications- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or a bachelor’s direct‑to‑master’s degree from an accredited college or university, with graduation between November 2027 and August 2028.
- Confidence as a self‑starter in a sales role.
- Ability to apply relevant regulatory due diligence in daily activities and long‑term client strategies.
- Detail‑oriented, highly motivated individual who enjoys multitasking in a dynamic environment.

- Travel: as needed.
- Full‑time position, 40 hours per week, 1st Shift.
