Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to take charge of managing and overseeing all financial operations for an organization in Baltimore. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, handling compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering timely financial reports to leadership. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while contributing to the financial health and strategic goals of the company.

Responsibilities:

- Manage daily accounting operations, including accurate recording of transactions and maintenance of financial records.

- Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and tracking company expenditures.

- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings while generating comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.

- Reconcile bank statements and ensure timely processing of payments, including payroll administration.

- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, optimize resource allocation, and recommend actionable solutions for operational improvement.

- Develop and enhance financial systems, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and maintain compliance.

- Collaborate with parent companies to create and communicate detailed financial reports.

- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant financial regulations.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Proven track record of success in accounting roles, including as a Senior Accountant.

- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards.

- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills..

- Exceptional analytical and organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail.

- Strong communication skills to effectively present financial information and collaborate with stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently while managing sensitive and confidential financial data.

- Certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred but not required.
