Senior Investment Analyst
Howard University’s Talent Acquisition Department is seeking a qualified Senior Investment Analyst to support research and analytical duties surrounding the Endowment and Retirement Trust. The Analyst will collaborate with the Chief Investment Officer, Deputy CIO, and the Investment Office to provide performance analysis, documentation, and reporting activities related to management of over $1.6 billion in assets.

- Work with the CIO and DCIO to oversee the investment portfolio and related projects, including cash reconciliation, return and risk calculations, documentation requests, and workflow coordination with Treasury.
- Take ownership of pacing analysis and capital‑call adherence.
- Select, develop, and maintain the analytics system for investment performance attribution and risk management.
- Ensure all documents and contracts protect the University’s rights and property.
- Prepare materials for Investment Committee meetings.
- Participate as an active member of the Howard University Investment Office.
- Evaluate current and recommend new investment managers.
- Perform statistical analysis and capital‑market research to define continuous improvement opportunities and tactical strategies.
- Analyze investment performance, prepare deliverables, and present findings to the CIO and Investment Committee.
- Review footnotes of external manager presentations and assess fee appropriateness.
- Conduct periodic studies such as benchmarking and manage additional projects as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Advanced Excel modeling
- Investment banking or institutional finance training
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Accurate deliverable preparation
- Strong organizational skills and independent work ability
- In‑depth knowledge of portfolio theory, manager evaluation, and selection processes
- Participate in educational programs and professional organizations to keep abreast of national and international trends.
- Attend conferences and seminars to deepen understanding of operational and portfolio issues.
- Network with other endowments and foundations to learn best practices and applicable strategies.
• At least 10 years of endowment, foundation, or investment experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Broad knowledge of investment concepts across multiple asset classes.
• Preferred: deep expertise in equity and fixed‑income strategies, CFA designation, MBA in Finance, and experience in private markets.
