Event Staff, Community Aide (NCS) - Baltimore City Recreation and Parks
Position Summary: City of Baltimore is seeking multiple Community Aide/Event Staff members to support the Horticulture Division with logistical management of private events such as weddings, conferences, and galas. Selected candidates will be part of a roster of event staff notified when work is available and may work up to 25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
Salary: $15.00–$30.00 per hour.
Starting Pay: $16.00 per hour.
- Prepare venue by setting up before and breaking down equipment after events; provide audio‑visual equipment support as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests.
- Ensure all COVID‑19 protocols are followed.
- Direct parking for larger events.
- Perform light custodial duties during events.
- Work under the instruction of the event manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: High‑school graduate or GED certificate.
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- License: Valid Maryland Class C non‑commercial driver’s license or equivalent; must be able to obtain a Baltimore City driver’s permit. Provisional driver’s licenses are not acceptable.
- Driver’s License Upload: A copy of a valid driver’s license must be uploaded with the application.

- Background Check: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening, and must be successfully completed.
- Probation: All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6‑month mandatory probation.
