Natureof Work
The Senior Stormwater Engineer is responsible for leading MDTA’s stormwater asset program including small drainage, stormwater management (SWM) facilities and drainage outfalls. The position plans and manages remedial projects/tasks to align with MDTA’s strategic goals and to comply with local, state, and federal standards and regulatory requirements. The position requires a strong knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, erosion and sediment controls, stormwater management practices, standards and regulations associated with drainage and stormwater.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Inventory, inspect, assess and monitor stormwater assets, including investigation of concerns/complaints and asset failures and development of engineering solutions;
- Prepare plans, reports, specifications, and construction documents;
- Supervise consultant engineering professionals, technicians and administrative staff and manage consultant tasks;
- Coordinate with MDTA’s Geographic Information System (GIS), Engineering, Operations and Construction teams;
- Support the compliance program related to stormwater requirements for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permits and Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL) Chesapeake Bay restoration goal and other state or local permits.
The employee in this position will report directly to the Environmental Discipline Manager
. The current vacancy is in Baltimore, MD. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.
