Position OverviewThe Structural Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting structural construction activities associated with airport infrastructure, terminal development, and related transportation facilities. This role supports the Construction Management and Inspection team by ensuring that structural work is constructed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, engineering standards, and project quality requirements.
The Structural Inspector will work closely with the Project Manager, Resident Engineer, contractors, and design consultants to verify that structural components are installed properly and meet all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The position requires strong experience in structural construction inspection within complex facilities such as commercial airports or large industrial or transportation infrastructure projects.
Required Education- High School Diploma
Inspection staff assigned to this role must possess one or more of the following credentials
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- NICET Level 3 or higher certification in the relevant structural inspection field
- International Code Council certification in the structural inspection field
- Other relevant construction inspection certifications demonstrating structural inspection expertise
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Structural Inspector on medium to large commercial airport projects, transportation infrastructure projects, or large industrial construction programs.
- Demonstrated experience inspecting structural construction including reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and related structural systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, structural details, and construction specifications.
- Experience working in complex construction environments with multiple contractors and active operations.

- Monitor contractor installation of structural components including foundations, reinforced concrete systems, structural steel framing, load bearing systems, and structural connections.
- Verify that construction materials such as reinforcing steel, concrete, structural steel members, anchors, and structural fasteners meet project specifications and approved submittals.
- Observe concrete placement activities including formwork installation, reinforcement placement, concrete pours, and curing procedures.
- Inspect structural steel fabrication and erection activities including welding, bolting, and alignment of structural members.
- Verify that field construction practices comply with approved shop drawings, structural details, and quality control procedures.
- Coordinate with the Resident Engineer and Construction Management team to identify structural deficiencies, nonconforming work, or potential safety concerns.
