We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Engineer to lead our Mechanical Engineering team in our Baltimore, MD office.
This position will ill oversee day-to-day operations of the mechanical engineering team while continuing to serve in a senior technical capacity. This individual will provide mentorship, support project delivery, coordinate resources, and help drive consistency and quality across projects.
Responsibilities- Lead and support the mechanical engineering team in the Baltimore office.
- Assist with workload planning, staff assignments, and resource coordination.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams in the design and execution of mechanical systems.
- Oversee HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design efforts across various building types.
- Review engineering documents for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with codes and standards.
- Serve as Engineer of Record on select projects as appropriate.
- Help resolve technical challenges and maintain design consistency across the department.
- Work closely with clients to understand project needs and ensure successful delivery.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and offices.
- Support proposal efforts, including scope development and fee input.
- Represent the mechanical team in project meetings and internal planning discussions.
- Promote adherence to WRA quality control processes.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets in collaboration with project managers.
- Encourage continuous improvement in design practices and project delivery.
- Stay current with industry trends, sustainable design practices, and emerging technologies.
- Encourage adoption of BIM, Revit, and energy modeling tools.
- Support team members’ professional growth and licensure goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Maryland or the ability to obtain one within 6 months through comity from another state.
- Minimum of 16 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and project management.
- Proficiency in industry software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Must be a US Citizen
