Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) specializing in MEP systems to support design oversight, field execution, commissioning, and performance optimization of HVAC and building mechanical systems. This role will work across projects in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., providing technical leadership, field expertise, and engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of MEP building systems.
- Oversee chilled water systems, boiler systems, and air-side HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Manage building automation and control systems
, including troubleshooting and programming oversight. - Conduct field inspections, identify system inefficiencies, and develop corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with energy codes, safety standards, and industry regulations
. - Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders during all project phases.
- Provide technical guidance, review engineering submittals, and stamp/approve documentation where required.
- Prepare engineering reports, commissioning documentation, and performance analysis.
- Lead troubleshooting and optimization of complex mechanical and control system issues.
- Maintain strong field presence to support installation teams and ensure technical accuracy.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (MD/VA/DC)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Extensive hands-on experience with MEP systems in commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities
- Strong expertise in:
- Chilled water systems
- Boiler systems
- Building automation and controls
- Proven field leadership and troubleshooting capabilities
- Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, NEC
, and relevant state/local codes
- Experience with energy efficiency programs and performance optimization
- Familiarity with BAS platforms (BMS, DDC systems)
- Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
