Geotechnical Instrumentation Engineer / Professional Engineer
We are seeking a qualified and motivated licensed Professional Engineer (PE) specializing in Geotechnical Instrumentation Engineering to oversee all aspects of our project's geotechnical monitoring program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the review, implementation and supervision of automated geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring systems (GIMS) for major construction projects.

- Certification:
Must hold current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the states of either Virginia, Maryland or the District of Columbia. - Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressive professional experience in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring. - Specialized Project
Experience:
Proven successful experience on a minimum of two (2) projects involving the implementation and operation of a geotechnical instrumentation automated monitoring system (GIMS).
- Prepare or review submittals related to geotechnical instrument installations and the Geotechnical Instrumentation Monitoring System (GIMS).
- Prepare detailed step‑by‑step procedures for all instruments and the GIMS, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Be on site as required to supervise the physical installation of instruments, ensuring strict adherence to approved procedures and design specifications.
- Supervise data collection, reduction, plotting, transferring, and reporting for all instruments.
- Coordinate instrumentation planning, measurement, interpretation, and reporting with the Client project team and the EOR.
- Participate in discussions with the Owner pertaining to all items related to the instrumentation, automated monitoring systems, and monitoring data.
- Deep technical knowledge of various geotechnical instruments (inclinometers, piezometers, extensometers, load cells, tilt meters, etc.) and automated data acquisition systems.
- Strong familiarity with data management and geotechnical data interpretation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical reports, procedures, and presenting complex data.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with construction project teams and ensure quality control in a complex construction environment.
- Flexible with regards to roles and working hours and willingness to travel.
- Can work autonomously but is also a team‑player and comfortable in an international and multi‑cultural environment.
