This is a full-time on-site role (hybrid roles also available) for a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer located in our Rockville, MD office. The engineer will be responsible for conducting dispersion analysis, heat transfer studies, and fire/explosion simulations. Daily tasks will involve fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics modeling, and working collaboratively with the engineering team to develop solutions for various fire and risk management challenges.
The role will require a hands‑on approach to research, analysis, and application of fluid dynamics principles in real‑world scenarios.
- Proficiency in Thermal Analysis and Heat Transfer
- Expertise in Aerodynamics
- Strong skills in Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities
- Strong analytical and computational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment
- Experience with CFD software and tools
- Ability to manage projects and staff is a plus
- Knowledge of FLACS, FDS, Ansys Fluent are a plus
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
