Project Engineer Diver
Location:
Baltimore, MD or Newark, DE office
Salary Range: $120K – $150K per year
Job Responsibilities- Use relevant experience to perform underwater and topside inspections of bridges and waterfront structures across the CONUS.
- Provide emergency response services associated with weather events.
- Ensure the safety of the traveling public through detailed assessments of bridge components and channel conditions below water.
- Draft and review inspection reports to clearly convey findings to clients.
- Perform routine maintenance on diving equipment in accordance with Pennoni’s Safe Diving Practices Manual and manufacturers’ specifications.
- Generate accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project.
- Ensure responsibilities are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for equipment maintenance, diving safety, and inspection procedures.
- Plan, schedule, and perform bridge inspections in accordance with the requirements of specific bridge owners, complying with NBIS and OSHA regulations.
- Professional Engineer Licensure
- 7+ years of underwater bridge inspection experience
- Meet NBIS Underwater and Topside Team Leader requirements
- Commercial Diving (ADCI) Certification
- Current USDOT physical
- ADCI medical examination within last 12 months
- Valid state driver’s license
- Physically capable of field work including inclement weather, climbing, carrying gear (up to 75 lbs), operating small boats, and using hand and power tools
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team to meet client objectives
- Occasional travel/overnight travel may be required
- ADCI Air‑diving Supervisor Certification
- Prior leadership experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Micro Station, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Structural design experience with waterfront structures and bridges
- Load rating and structural analysis experience
- NDT/NDE experience a plus
- MDSHA and/or PennDOT experience a plus
