Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an opportunity for an experienced Environmental Planner available to work on diverse projects with multiple departments.
This position will be a part time 30+ hourly status, with benefits.
Responsibilities include:- Serves as a project planner
- Uses the planning process to assist in the development of long-range improvement plans
- Directs and supervises other project staffs’ activities
- Responsible to project manager and/or project team for quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual
- Instructs technicians to assist in the development of working drawings and exhibits
- Thorough understanding of industry guidance and regulatory standards for planning and design.
- Prepares reports and plans for planning projects
- Instructs technicians to develop materials for client and other public planning meetings.
- Visits project site to gather data
- Attends project coordination meetings – days or nights.
- Presents elements of study results in public meetings
- Performs lead function with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
- May perform project management duties on certain projects
- Other duties as assigned
A valid driver’s license is required.
The successful candidate will have:- Bachelor's degree in Planning (or related field) from an accredited college or university
--AND--
- A minimum of four (4) years related working experience (or equivalent).
- At least six (6) years of related work experience
- AICP membership preferred
- Be knowledgeable and have practical experience in preparing and managing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents for transportation projects; roadways, bridges, bicycle, pedestrian, trails, transit or aviation
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with state DOTs, MPOs, transit authorities, or state (DNR) and federal (FHWA, FTA, FRA, FAA) agencies
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and public involvement programs
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills

Salary Range: $41.35 - $53.85 hourly – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.
