Position SummaryThe firm is hiring Designers and Senior Designers to support mechanical, electrical, or plumbing system design for complex building projects. This role supports full lifecycle design, coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, and construction administration activities. Senior-level professionals will lead system design and mentor junior staff, while non-senior designers will focus on technical production and skill development.
Qualifications- MEP design experience within a consulting engineering environment
- Discipline expertise in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of building codes and design standards
- Typically 8–10+ years of systems design experience
- Ability to lead design efforts independently
- Typically 2–6 years of systems design experience
- BSME, BSEE, or related degree preferred
- EIT preferred but not required
- Perform mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems design for commercial and institutional projects
- Develop calculations, layouts, and technical documentation
- Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, and internal teams
- Research and interpret applicable building codes and standards
- Interface with city, state, and county officials as required
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and contractor RFIs
- Participate in bidding and construction administration
- Senior level: oversee project design, resolve complex issues, and mentor junior staff
- Office-based with hybrid flexibility depending on role
- Prolonged computer use and occasional site visits
- Light physical requirements
