Inspector II
Work in the Baltimore office on a variety of infrastructure projects throughout the Baltimore Metro Area, including water and wastewater projects, erosion and sediment control inspection, stormwater facilities inspection, and other projects.
Responsibilities- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Participate in pre‑construction meetings, punch list preparation, testing, and commissioning.
- Use extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Set own project deadlines.
- Provide on‑the‑job training to new employees.
- Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records.
- Track quality assurance progress.
- Provide input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
- Frequent traveling to field locations; daily walking several miles across variable terrains and weather conditions.
- Conduct thorough inspections of wastewater treatment facilities, including pumping stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
- Verify compliance with environmental regulations and permits related to wastewater management.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction‑related issues and ensure project success.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographic documentation and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Stay current with industry standards, technological advancements, and best practices in wastewater construction and inspection techniques.
- High School Diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License; must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to understand construction plans, shop drawing submittals, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.
- NASSCO PACP certification.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports in Microsoft Word.
- US Army Corps of Engineers CQM certification.
- Construction inspection experience on a variety of infrastructure projects.
- Detail‑oriented and maintain a professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
- Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- Relocation is not available for this position.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $30 to $35 per hour.
