Senior Technical Manager, Transit and Rail Engineering
Join WSP USA in Washington, DC for a Senior Technical Manager role within our Transit and Rail Engineering team.
Job OverviewWSP USA is seeking a dynamic leader to drive technical and business development across our region. The successful candidate will lead cross‑functional programs, develop key client relationships, and support our strategic vision.
Duties and Responsibilities- Lead major programs for key public sector clients
- Scope development, scheduling, client management, and invoicing
- Assemble teams in a matrixed environment and serve as a technical project manager for transit design projects
- Coordinate with other directors/leaders to ensure consistent technical standards and applications across projects
- Prepare technical memoranda and management reports
- Support internal business management processes
- Build, mentor, and develop professional staff skills
- Manage multi‑disciplinary technical teams to deliver projects to clients
- Develop and manage a portfolio of design and construction management work in the transit and site development industries
- 10+ years of experience in the transit and rail sector
- Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering
- Licensed engineer (PE) in DC, MD or VA
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Critical strategic and creative thinking skills
- Self‑motivated, well‑organized, and works well with others
- Local to the DC/Northern Virginia/Maryland area and available to work in office/on‑site regularly
- Proficient in track and structural design
- Active in local professional organizations
- Master's degree in engineering or related field
- Licensed in all 3 local jurisdictions: DC, MD, VA
- Technical experience includes major local agencies

CompensationExpected Salary (all locations): $130,100 – $205,040
