** The Department of Resident Life serves a highly diverse population of approximately 12,500 undergraduate students living in traditional residence halls, apartments, and suites including some public/private partnership apartment communities. About 46% of all resident students are enrolled in twelve living-learning programs covering a wide array of academic areas. Resident Life employs a diverse workforce of 88 full-time and graduate staff members and about 600 undergraduate student staff members.

** General Description of Duties:
** As a member of the Department of Resident Life Residential Engagement Programs (REP) team in the Engagement, Services, and Programs unit, the Graduate Coordinator for Residential Engagement Programs supports the development of meaningful residential experiences that foster student learning, belonging, and success. This role advances the residential curriculum by contributing to curriculum design, assessment, staff training, and the creation of educational resources and programming tools.

The coordinator helps implement large-scale engagement initiatives and welcome/outreach experiences, strengthening connections among prospective and current students and the campus community. The GA collaborates with campus partners, supports student leadership and community programming efforts, and assists with major departmental operations and annual processes including Fall Welcome, Terps After Dark (late night events at the start of the fall semester), Admitted Student Open Houses, Orientation, and other partnerships across the Division of Student Affairs and greater campus community.

The Graduate Coordinator carries out their duties in an environment characterized by a diverse staff and student population and actively leads and models practices that foster equity and inclusion.
**** Residential Curriculum
***** Assist work to advance the residential curriculum - how students live, learn, and grow through their residency on campus
* Serve as a member of the residential curriculum committee to assist with assessment and creation of curriculum materials
* Develop, distribute, and evaluate various resource-oriented bulletin boards and posters
* Create, organize, and promote boxed programming on a range of topics; assess and evaluate how RAs use the boxed programming. (This may include working with campus partners to co-create boxed programs.)
* Facilitate training to professional and student staff about residential curriculum standards and expectations to ensure the curriculum is understood and executed
* Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends and research on residential curriculum, learning strategies, and other relevant content areas related to learning and success for a diverse student population
* Explore best practices and connections between the Residential Curriculum and Restorative Practices
**** Resident Engagement Programs
***** Serve on the Fall Welcome committee and participate in the implementation of programming during opening weekend to help create connections between students and to the greater campus community
* Represent and support Residential Engagement Programs at residential community welcome events
* Assist with the implementation of major fall programming initiatives, including Terps After Dark, Family Weekend, and Homecoming
* Provide support for organization of and representation at admissions and orientation programming
* Assist in the development and implementation of ongoing residential community programming in support of the Coordinator for Student Leadership & Engagement
**** Department & Campus Engagement
***** Participate in annual departmental initiatives, including residence hall opening, Resident Assistant Selection, Room Selection, and Terps Move Out Donation Drive
* Collaborate with and/or support office staff, departmental community staff, and other Division and university offices in the planning and production of various one-time and on-going community development, imminent risk, academic enrichment, sustainability, and engagement programming for a diverse student population
* Participate as a member of department and university committees and represent the department at various campus and community functions as requested
* Maintain current knowledge of department functions and campus resources, event calendars, policies, and procedures in the interest of effective program and event planning
