Job SummaryThe successful candidate will teach undergraduate classes in public relations and strategic communication and support teaching of SGJC's core required classes. They will mentor students in the Strategic Communication (SCOM) Strategy Shop, a student‑staffed, faculty‑supervised operation that works with clients on and off campus. They will also teach classes in digital content creation for strategic social/digital media, web and mobile environments, media writing and related classes.
Responsibilities• Teach undergraduate courses in public relations and strategic communication, digital content creation, media writing, and related subjects.
• Mentor students in the Strategic Communication (SCOM) Strategy Shop.
• Support teaching of core required classes for the School of Global Journalism & Communications.
QualificationsRequired
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least two (2) years of direct professional experience in the field.
- Candidate must be an expert multimedia storyteller with professional skills in Adobe Creative Suite and other multimedia creation applications.
- Expert knowledge of prominent social media and website platforms, including native use of Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, Twitter, Linked In, You Tube Shorts, and other applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A master's degree.
- Strong writing and content creation skills with critical thinking and storytelling capabilities.
- Creative thinker who can tailor writing styles, visual media, and communication approaches to specific audiences and platforms.
- Ability to produce photo, graphics, and video content for digital platforms.
