Sr. Academic Program Coordinator (Center for Leadership Education)

The Center for Leadership Education (CLE) seeks a Sr. Academic Program Coordinator to manage all aspects of the day‑to‑day educational activities of the department’s undergraduate programs. The position involves recruitment, curriculum, evaluation, budget, experiential groups, student advising and other administrative duties, working with faculty, staff, and students independently.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with student recruitment and marketing efforts for programs.
  • Advise students on academic requirements and handle sensitive personal issues.
  • Coordinate interview and application processes.
  • Schedule, plan, develop, and produce information sessions.
  • Track and analyze trend data, compile reports.
  • Make recommendations concerning marketing, processing, and business outreach.
  • Independently manage specific program activities.
  • Responsible for budget projections, stipend and other expenditures; interface with financial aid and student services.
  • Support course and student activity scheduling.
  • Serve as liaison to Registrar’s Office, Academic Advising, Admissions, Dean’s Office, other academic departments, Student Accounts, and International Office.
  • Produce substantive reports for department faculty and administration.
  • Maintain room schedules, address and phone lists, emergency contact information.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events such as receptions, open houses, and social gatherings.
  • Maintain students’ academic files and faculty evaluations.
  • Plan orientation for new students.
  • Advise students on program choices, advisor selection, teaching opportunities, and job applications.
  • Oversee the work of less experienced employees or students.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
Supplemental Duties
  • Manage Fotiadi Fund proposals, requests, and awards.
  • Oversee undergraduate programs and serve as primary advisor for CLE minors.
  • Advise 350+ students on academic and graduation requirements.
  • Update course catalog and manuals with program directors.
  • Provide administrative support: assistant hiring, course info updates, catalog maintenance.
  • Consult with and advise program directors on changes to policies and procedures.
  • Work with distressed students on academic concerns, collaborating with other university departments to enhance student success at Johns Hopkins.
  • Manage department space and classroom assignments.
  • Support student experiential groups (AMA, Salant, Enactus, Women in Business, SCNO, JHUCC, JHPMC) including budget approval.
  • Serve as CLE’s Design Day event coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of progressively responsible administrative/academic experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience; additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma, per JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, Word Press, SIS, and course production.
