Job Description
The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is seeking a faculty member for the Office of Global Health. The Office of Global Health resides within the Partnerships, Professional Education, and Practice (PPEP) Department, which includes six divisions which focus on educational missions vital to the school. The Office of Global Health offers a 12-credit global health certificate and partners with stakeholders within and outside of the school to build a global community for health equity at this nationally ranked school of nursing.
The Office of Global Health strives to:
- Build partnerships and create programs to improve population health
- Build professional development and capacity of global health care workers
- Strengthen the global visibility, recognition, and value of nurses as leaders
The Office of Global Health candidate will have academic and professional experience in nursing or another health-related field and will uphold and advance the UMB and UMSON core values. They will contribute to student success in the following ways.
Essential Functions in Teaching, Scholarship, Service, and Leadership Teaching- Earned doctorate degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or Health Education
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Experience with program planning and implementation
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in global health teaching face-to-face and/or online in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing or health professions program at an accredited academic institution
- Competence with instructional technology across various learning environments
- A collaborative approach to assessment for learning that reaches across disciplines and schools.
- Spirit of inquiry and a willingness to develop programs to amplify teaching and learning research and scholarship.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and teamwork
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse groups of faculty, staff, and students.
- Commitment to uphold and contribute to an environment of inclusion and academic humility in the work/learning space.
Hiring Range: $122,000-$148,000
