Position Title
GED NEDP Tutors
Job Type & HoursPart‑time, Non‑Exempt. Hours per week vary and do not exceed 25 hours.
Work ScheduleVaries; typical time frames are M‑Th 8:30‑9:30 am, 12‑2 pm, 5‑6:30 pm with Friday and weekend options available.
Salary$30–$35 per hour.
SummaryOne or more vacancies for tutors to work with adults pursuing their high school diploma through the GED or NEDP programs. Subjects include mathematics, reading and writing, social studies, and science.
Essential Role Responsibilities- Provide individual and/or small‑group tutoring in specific classes and topics.
- Teach content and study‑skill strategies.
- Attend mandatory orientation for new tutors and complete HCC online required training.
- Complete required administrative tasks, including record‑keeping for tutoring sessions and communications with classroom instructors.
- Work collaboratively as a team member and abide by grant‑program policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience RequiredNone specifically listed.
Preferred Experience- Relevant knowledge of the GED/NEDP subject areas.
- Background and familiarity with adult high‑school diploma programs is a plus.
In‑person teaching at the Hickory Ridge building is strongly preferred; limited online options are available.
