Overview
Wilmer Eye Institute is seeking applications for a highly qualified, full-time, fellowship-trained cornea and external disease specialist at The Wilmer Eye Clinic located in Baltimore, Maryland.
This position requires excellent clinical and surgical skills in corneal, cataract and external eye diseases and disorders; dedication to academic medicine; and commitment to teamwork and professional growth. Primary clinical activity will occur at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore as well as one of the Wilmer Eye Institute satellite locations. The candidate will also be a faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and will engage in teaching of fellows and ophthalmology residents in addition to research activities.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical and surgical care in corneal, cataract and external eye diseases and disorders; participate in teaching of fellows and ophthalmology residents; engage in research activities as part of an academic medicine environment.
- Clinical activity at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore and at one of the Wilmer satellite locations.
- Serve as a faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine with opportunities to participate in departmental and educational activities, continuing education courses, team meetings, and professional development.
- Completed an ACGME-accredited ophthalmology residency training program and/or board certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology or board-eligible.
- Completed a fellowship in cornea and external disease.
- Qualified for the rank of Assistant Professor or higher in accordance with Johns Hopkins School of Medicine criteria.
- Compensation includes guaranteed base salary and bonus pay commensurate with productivity and optical referrals.
