Gynecologic Oncology Physician

Overview

Med Star Health is expanding its cancer service line throughout the Baltimore-Washington, DC region and is hiring an experienced Gynecologic Oncologist to join the Med Star Franklin Square Medical Center facility in Baltimore, Maryland. The Gynecologic Oncologist will work with support from a nurse navigator and midlevel provider to manage a surgical practice and chemotherapy administration. The team has access to clinical trials through the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital and participates in Gynecologic Oncology trials with NRG, as well as cooperative group and industry-sponsored trials via the Georgetown partnership.

There is potential for a clinical appointment with Georgetown University School of Medicine and the opportunity to teach Georgetown medical students.

Joining Med Star Gynecologic Oncology means joining a collaborative network of nationally recognized physicians who convene for weekly tumor board discussions. The clinical partnership extends beyond gynecologic oncology to radiation oncology, surgical oncology, medical oncology, palliative care, and other supporting services within the institution. This is an opportunity to grow the gynecologic oncology presence at Med Star Health and in the surrounding Baltimore communities, with a goal to have two gynecologic oncologists and an advanced practice provider in the service line growth plan.

In this role, you will be responsible for consultations and treatment of women with gynecologic cancers, including uterine, cervical, ovarian, vulvar, and vaginal cancers. You will have access to the DaVinci Xi, dedicated OR block time, and co-lead a busy ambulatory practice. You will also have the opportunity to participate in tumor boards, teach learners (medical students, residents, and fellows), and participate in hospital- and system-wide service line committees and projects.

• Degree of MD or DO with subspecialty training and certification in Gynecologic Oncology
• American Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology
• Valid and unrestricted Maryland medical license
