Position: Cornea Faculty position at the Wilmer Eye Institute

General Description

Wilmer Eye Institute is seeking applications for a highly qualified, full-time, fellowship-trained cornea and external disease specialist at The Wilmer Eye Clinic located in Baltimore, Maryland.

This position requires excellent clinical and surgical skills in corneal, cataract and external eye diseases and disorders; dedication to academic medicine; and commitment to teamwork and professional growth. Primary clinical activity will occur at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore as well as one of the Wilmer Eye Institute satellite locations. The candidate will also be a faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and will engage in teaching of fellows and ophthalmology residents in addition to research activities.

The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Ophthalmology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in the Department of Ophthalmology incentive compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein.

Qualifications

Candidates must have successfully completed an ACGME accredited ophthalmology residency training program and/or be certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology or be board‑eligible. Applicants must have completed a fellowship in cornea and external disease.

Candidates must qualify for the rank of Assistant Professor or higher in accordance with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine criteria.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
