About Our SearchOur Baltimore office is seeking a skilled Interior Designer to join our team in the Senior Living / Affordable Housing Market Sector. Our next team member will have excellent communication, design, graphic, and visualization skills. This individual will manage, organize, and coordinate with the design and technical project teams throughout the design process to successfully execute interior and architectural projects.

Our teams of talented designers, working with tight budgets and challenging sites, are dedicated to providing sustainable and equitable design solutions for our senior living and affordable housing clients. Our ideal candidate is passionate about creating successful communities and can support teams through the jurisdictional entitlements process, funding application process, and design and construction phases of each project.
Interior Designer
- Develop design concepts, narratives, drawings, and 3D renderings as needed to effectively convey design intent to clients for various types of housing projects.
- Lead design‑focused visioning sessions and presentations to clients, community groups, etc.
- Actively collaborate with and coordinate the work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project. Coordinate with architects, landscape architects, lighting designers, engineers, furniture dealers, and other consultant team members to facilitate the successful integration of their scope with our efforts, project budgets, and timelines.
- Lead projects’ technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination, and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with Senior Designer and/or Principal‑In‑Charge.
- Manage and develop construction documents with limited oversight, while fostering team building and mentoring less‑experienced colleagues.
- Maintain contact with the team during all project phases, participating in client and owner presentations as required to progress project decisions.
- Oversee construction administration duties (e.g., RFI’s, ASI’s, change orders, etc.). Review shop drawings, material samples, and product data for conformance with design.
- Develop FFE package from concept, through specification, into bid, and ultimately on‑site punch.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interior design from an accredited university.
- Actively pursuing or has achieved NCIDQ accreditation and licensure.
- 10‑15 years of experience in the Interior Design field.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, while being a creative and innovative thinker.
- Strong design leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise others.
- Extensive design portfolio, with Senior Living, Multi‑family, Hospitality, or Affordable Housing experience. Portfolio should demonstrate:
- Strength in selection of design elements such as materiality, lighting, furnishings, and rendering in Enscape, Sketch Up, and Photoshop.
- Experience self‑managing a mid‑size project from Schematic Design through Construction Administration.
