Kokosing Industrial’s Marine division is seeking a Project Manager (Heavy Marine Construction and/or Heavy Civil Construction) located in Baltimore, MD. The Project Manager will manage all aspects of marine construction projects, from preconstruction to final approval, providing technical expertise to estimating, participating in proposals, labor and resource planning, scheduling, and executing projects within budget and schedule.
Travel RequirementsThe role requires regular/extensive travel within the project geographic region for 5‑7 months per year. The incumbent will travel often on marine vessels (boats, barges, etc.) in the Mid‑Atlantic and will have overnight travel. The company will pay for hotel accommodations with scheduled rotations as needed.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage all aspects of marine construction projects.
- Ensure successful execution within budget, schedule, and job cost.
- Develop scheduling using Critical Path Method (CPM) and project plans that meet client requirements and timelines.
- Forecast budget, track expenditures, and monitor cost control with Finance.
- Serve as primary contact with the client.
- Identify improvements in systems, safety, project reporting, and implement more efficient dredging methods.
- Assist with creation of post‑award client submittals and other deliverables.
- Coordinate all project logistics with crewing team, vessel and crew needs.
- Oversee procurement of project equipment and consumables.
- Manage third‑party subcontractors and rental companies in conjunction with Site Administrators.
- Manage mobilization efforts and oversee required daily reporting.
- Conduct daily QC of production.
- Monitor site conditions for change orders or modifications.
- Provide technical expertise to estimating for proposal preparation and create cost and production estimates for bids.
- Regularly track project milestones and resolve potential conflicts or delays in the timeline.
- Manage resources needed to complete the project.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies.
- Create and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Act as a leader and mentor to other staff and new marine staff, providing training and coaching on administrative duties.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred or equivalent technical training and related experience.
- 3+ years of project management experience in marine construction or heavy civil projects.
- Technical understanding of construction and maintenance of marine vessels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling and ability to monitor progress to schedule and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Self‑motivated team player with a strong work ethic.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Preferred: ability to operate small marine vessels.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to manage and function in a team of varied disciplines.
- Knowledge of safety laws and company policies/standards.
- Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, specifications, building materials, and required standards.
- Certified OSHA 30 and 40‑Hour EM 385‑1‑1.
- Primavera P6 Certification.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Hypack, and/or other survey software preferred.

CompensationExpected annual salary range: $110,000–$160,000. The range reflects job level and factors such as education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Incentive pay or additional benefits will be provided separately when appropriate.
