Job DescriptionUltimate Staffing's client is seeking a Direct Hire Construction Estimator to join their growing construction business. The Construction Estimator will play a critical role in analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the pre‑construction process. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze project documentation to fully understand requirements.
- Select, measure, and track key project metrics.
- Conduct site visits, warehouse inspections, and other necessary evaluations to complete estimates.
- Perform detailed analysis of collected data and metrics.
- Prepare accurate and reliable cost forecasts.
- Conduct risk analysis and provide recommendations.
- Create and present detailed reports to upper management.
- Analyze and evaluate vendor offers.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key vendors.
- Complete subcontract buyouts following project award.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator.
- Bachelor's degree required; engineering, construction science, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles.
- Hands‑on experience with complex data research and analysis.
- Familiarity with estimating software such as Timberline or Pro Contractor by Viewpoint.
- Knowledge of RS Means and on‑screen takeoff tools.
- Ability to budget using partial plans or conceptual drawings.
- Skilled in writing detailed scope sheets for subcontractors.
- Proficient in understanding federal solicitations and producing technical and price responses to RFPs.
- Exceptional time‑management and multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Highly proficient in pre‑construction processes.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
