Program Supervisor – Parents as Teachers
SUMMARY: This position ensures the provision of quality services to families by providing strengths-based professional supervision to Reisencrewdirect staff, facilitating home visits and coordinating group events for participating families as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supervisory support for 2 to 4 Home Visitors, including bi‑weekly supervision sessions each month; ensure full‑time parent educators receive two hours of individual reflective supervision and two hours of staff meetings; part‑time parent educators receive two hours of reflective supervision and two hours of staff meetings.
- Ensure home‑visiting documentation is completed accurately and submitted in accordance with program policies; monitor caseloads and home‑visit completion rates.
- Observe each Home Visitor at least semi‑annually and provide feedback that encourages professional development.
- Provide reflective supervision to support Home Visitors’ work with challenging families and enhance their abilities.
- Develop and implement FSS initial training plans and ensure staff meets all Parents as Teachers (PAT) training requirements.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of the PAT Standards and community resources; ensure families complete required assessments, are current with immunizations and well‑child visits, and receive appropriate referrals.
- Support Home Visitors in developing Family Goal Plans and monitor family progress toward goals.
- Review incident reports, provide intervention services to families as needed, and facilitate home visits as required.
- Function as a team leader, assist with facilitation of team meetings, provide daily support and crisis management, and participate in administrative program meetings.
- Assist with staff selection through initial interviews, facilitate orientation trainings, and help develop and revise staff trainings.
- Assist with revision of program forms, updating policies/procedures, compiling annual participant satisfaction surveys, and supporting the Program Manager with reporting and data management.
- Work closely with department PM & Director to obtain and maintain program certification and fidelity.
- Participate in PAT Supervisor meetings, community meetings, work groups, and facilitate community presentations about program services.
- Collaborate with agency staff from other programs and perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director of Programs and Services.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Mental Health, Nursing, Education, or equivalent) required. Master’s Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 5 years of experience working directly with families with children in‑home or in group settings; case management or service coordination experience preferred.
SKILLS:
- Solid understanding of supervising and motivating staff, and providing support to staff in stressful work environments.
- Experience in early childhood prevention services; home visitation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of infant/child development, parent‑child attachment, maternal‑infant health, and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
- Experience delivering family services that embrace family‑centered, strength‑based, culturally sensitive provision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to reflective supervision, data collection, and continuous quality improvement.
