The Sr. Lead, Global Demand Planning is responsible for leading and forecasting product demand to ensure optimal supply, sourcing and inventory levels—informed by market trends, historical performance, and consumer signals. This role utilizes advanced analytics, internal and external data, and other insights to provide a demand forecast that maximizes sales while minimizing stockouts and excess. It will work and partner with other planning counterparts and functional partners to arrive at consensus plans.
Your Impact- Develops & owns the strategic and tactical long-range plans in Blue Yonder Demand Planning leveraging tools such as like‑style mapping, history cleansing, parameter tuning, seasonality profiles, exception management, forecast adjustments, forecast accuracy, bias, and FVA.
- Fosters cross-functional consensus collaboration with key departments to align forecasts, strategies and ensure the successful achievement of organizational and team objectives.
- Partner with leaders in finance, supply chain, and product to review consensus forecasts with business goals.
- Lead efforts to analyze and synthesize historical data, macroeconomic indicators, and consumer trends to improve forecast accuracy across multiple product lines or regions.
- Identify and recommend areas of forecast accuracy improvement leveraging ML/AI forecasts for targeted sections of the business.
- Manage all ad hoc demand planning requests, such as what‑if scenarios, strategy assessments, supply constraints, etc.
- Evaluate and present alternative demand scenarios, including risks, opportunities, and contingencies. Guide team members in adjusting demand plans based on these insights.
- Manage the demand planning calendar and ensure the cadence and communication frameworks are effectively followed by the team.
- Mentor and guide junior planners to improve their demand planning and analytical capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, or a related field
- Proficient in Blue Yonder or other major demand planning systems for statistical forecasting.
- 7+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, or a related role.
- Experience in the apparel or footwear industry is preferred.
- Proficient in demand, scenario planning, and long-range forecasting using market trends, consumer insights, and historical data.
- Strong ability to collaborate across teams to ensure alignment with broader business goals.
- Skilled in data analysis and proficient with visualization tools to create insights and drive decision-making.
- Ability to leverage algorithms for task automation and exception management.
- Deep understanding of S&OP, S&OP and IBP processes.
- Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders, lead change, and communicate complex concepts clearly to senior leaders.
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance of the Under Armour global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.
- Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring minimum 4 days in-office per week.
