Job Overview
Contract Hardware Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing Assistant to join our Office & Administration team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow within the purchasing field while supporting the Purchasing Manager and broader office team. The Purchasing Assistant will play a key role in managing inventory, processing vendor documentation, and supporting day-to-day purchasing operations. This position offers the opportunity to grow into a full purchasing role within 2-3 years, making it an excellent long-term career path for motivated professionals.

We deliver turnkey services in Division 6 finish carpentry, Division 8 doors and frames, Division 10 specialty products, and Division 12 window treatments across Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Purchasing Manager with daily purchasing functions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and vendor communications.
- Track deliveries and follow up with vendors and suppliers.
- Communicate daily with office personnel, vendors, and project teams.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry for purchasing tasks.
- Provide administrative support to the purchasing team and management.
- Learn purchasing processes with the goal of transitioning into a full purchasing role.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in purchasing (preferred).
- Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and vendors.
- Interest in long-term professional growth within purchasing.
- Base Salary: $50,000 - $60,000+ per year.
