Introduction
The Maryland Department of Disabilities (MDOD) is seeking a Projects Coordinator for the Telecommunications Access of Maryland (TAM). TAM provides equipment and services for Marylanders who have difficulty using a telephone. TAM administers both Maryland Relay, the free public service that allows people who are unable to use a standard telephone to make and receive calls; and the Maryland Accessible Telecommunications (MAT) program, which distributes State-provided assistive telecommunications equipment to qualified applicants.
This position is eligible for telework and is limited to current employees of the Maryland Department of Disabilities.

Position Duties Front Desk and Secretarial Support- Provide front‑desk coverage, including monitoring the office entrance, answering telephones, admitting and welcoming staff and authorized visitors.
- Schedule appointments and meetings for the supervisor and designated TAM staff, resolving basic calendar conflicts and confirming details with participants.
- Act as an intermediary for the supervisor, maintaining contact with constituents, professional staff, community partners, and local organizations; triage inquiries and determine which require supervisor attention.
- Open, sort, read (as needed), and distribute incoming correspondence, emails, and messages to appropriate staff, flagging time‑sensitive items.
- Prepare correspondence, meeting agendas, minutes and other documents.
- Provide project‑specific assistance to the Director, including scheduling meetings and fielding inquiries from external actors or other State partners.
- Provide administrative support for implementation of new and existing TAM programs and procedures, including tracking timelines, tasks and deliverables.
- Assist in planning and overseeing the disposal of surplus property in accordance with DGS and agency procedures.
- Support office projects, including maintaining inventories, coordinating packing and labeling, handling surplus furniture and electronics disposal, and set‑up and tear‑down tasks.
- Serve as a content creator for TAM, developing social media posts, short‑form videos, training videos or tutorials, FAQs, and graphics.
- Script, film and edit social media and training videos, ensuring appropriate use of captions, plain language and other accessibility features; coordinate with staff and external partners for on‑camera participation as needed.
- Design graphics for use on social media, the web, presentations and print materials (e.g., flyers, posters, handouts), following TAM branding and accessibility standards.
- Draft and update FAQs, how‑to guides and simple training materials for use on the website, in presentations and at outreach events.
- Work with the Outreach Manager and supervisor to plan and maintain a content calendar for social media, web content and other communication channels, aligned with agency priorities and state communications guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Outreach Manager and TAM staff to identify new content needs based on common questions, emerging issues or new program offerings.
- Maintain a schedule of all ongoing meeting times and dates for local disability advocacy organizations and community groups, such as the Maryland Association of the Deaf, Hearing Loss of America and others affiliated with users of relay services.
- Support logistics for outreach events and trainings (virtual or in‑person), including preparing materials, coordinating registrations and sharing event information through TAM channels.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for projects and communications records.
- Assist with simple data tracking and reporting related to projects, outreach activities and content performance as directed.
