The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring appropriate nursing and support staff coverage for all patient care units. This position manages daily and future staffing schedules, processes employee callouts, and coordinates with nursing leadership to maintain safe staffing levels. The Staffing Coordinator serves as the central communication point for staffing‑related issues and supports the efficient operation of the Nursing Staffing Office.
Education- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year in staffing coordination, scheduling, or healthcare administration (preferably in a hospital or nursing setting).
- Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., Shift Wizard, or similar).
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and scheduling.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple competing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
- Team‑oriented and dependable, with a customer service mindset.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to think quickly and remain calm under pressure and make sound staffing decisions.
- Receive and record staff callouts and documents in the scheduling system.
- Notify Administrative Coordinator of staffing shortages or scheduling changes.
- Collaborate with Administrative Coordinator and Charge Nurses to fill open shifts.
- Communicate promptly and professionally with staff regarding schedule changes, shift assignments, and coverage needs.
- Maintain Nursing Staffing Office data/record files.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Nursing Staffing Office.
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
