THIS IS A NON-CIVIL SERVICE POSITION

Starting Pay: $51,147.20 Annually

Job Summary

The Baltimore Police Department is seeking a Contract Services Specialist to work in various departments within BPD. Working as part of a dynamic team under general supervision, CSS duties vary depending on the unit assigned (some units may require lifting, standing, pushing, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
  • OR equivalency: have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to operate a computer and learn the BPD Systems.
  • Ability to work an assigned shift with set days off.
  • Depending upon the department you may have to work one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) per week.
  • Knowledge of Department forms and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
Additional Information

Background Check:
Eligible candidates under final consideration for positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.

Probation:
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6‑month mandatory probation.
