Job Description
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (SON) is currently recruiting for a DNP Academic Services Coordinator to support the Office of Records and Registration in the Office of Student and Academic Services.
The Academic Services Coordinator is responsible for academic programs, including DNP clinical placements, recruitment activities and events, marketing, application assessment, and support to faculty. The position assists with course scheduling, registration processes, advisor assignments, reports, and is responsible for planning, trend analysis, and environmental scanning.

Essential Functions- The Academic Services Coordinator supports the day‑to‑day operations of an academic program in a school, department, division, or specialty program, assisting in organizing and maintaining operational functions and serving as a resource for students, faculty, and staff.
- Assists with the coordination of administrative activities of the academic program, ensuring optimum efficiency and compliance with policies.
- Develops and creates program coursework communications and promotional literature for distribution such as newsletters, brochures, or flyers.
- Receives, screens, and responds to inquiries by providing general information about the program.
- Composes and edits documents such as class materials, handouts, syllabi, program and marketing materials to meet university standards.
- Reconciles departmental budgets and oversees payment of all departmental expenses, including student workers, guest speakers, supplies, etc.
- Serves as a liaison regarding payroll, benefits, reimbursements, and other administrative matters, assisting with travel, housing, and visa requirements.
- Provides administrative support for recruitment, selection, admission, registration, and orientation.
- Assists with program evaluation activities and recommends efficient use of space, equipment, and personnel resources.
- Maintains the calendar, schedules meetings, responds to emails, answers calls, prepares correspondence and reports, and maintains department files.
- Arranges extracurricular seminars, study sessions, or workshops to enhance student experiences.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Prior related administrative experience in which program coordination is the primary responsibility.
Other: Clery Act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements.
Additional experience and formal education can be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year‑for‑year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior clinical placement experience.
