The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and work closely with the CFO.
Construction Accounting- Management of job cost systems, including inputting data, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances.
- Review all invoices for accurate coding.
- Monitor project budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for construction projects.
- Assist with project closeouts, including final invoicing and lien releases.
- Prepare journal entries for rent vacancies, property taxes, insurance, and other property-related expenses.
- Maintain accurate property records, including leases, insurance policies, and maintenance contracts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations.
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits.
- B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration desired.
- A minimum of 3 years experience with job costing.
- CPA or other relevant certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of real estate accounting software packages.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Yardi.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
