Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse accounting tasks while growing your expertise and contributing to a variety of projects. As part of a dynamic environment, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial operations and reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

- Prepare and post journal entries for routine and complex transactions.

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including timely processing and recording of invoices.

- Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Assist in payroll processing and ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.

- Support corporate tax preparation and filing by gathering necessary documentation and ensuring accuracy.

- Collaborate with team members to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.

- Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely completion.

- Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel tools to streamline reporting and data analysis.

- Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to special projects as needed. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience in a detail-oriented setting.

- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including pivot tables and complex formulas.

- Strong knowledge of corporate tax processes and compliance.

- Familiarity with general ledger systems and financial reporting tools.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

- Preferred but not required: certifications in accounting or finance.
