Senior Property Accountant

LHH has partnered with a well‑established real‑estate company that is looking to add a Senior Property Accountant to their team. This professional will handle full‑cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare property reconciliations and budgets as well as mid‑year CAM reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for properties.
  • Abstract lease documents into the accounting ledger.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for SEC filings.
  • Coordinate refunds to tenants or process collections on outstanding escrow, reconciliation, and direct pass‑through amounts.
  • Audit and analyze tenant ledgers.
  • Verify accuracy of all bills and ensure amounts are coded correctly.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Create and maintain schedules for amortization, tenant improvements, and escrows.
  • Review budget information and provide variance explanations.
  • Prepare operating expense invoices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience, preference for real‑estate industry exposure.
  • Commercial property accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Yardi.
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with management of all levels.
